Kristina Vogel is the world's most successful track cyclist: two Olympic gold medals, eleven world championship titles and numerous national titles. She is a woman who lives for her sport and represents it like no other. And then the year 2018. During training she collides with a Dutch rider. The result: a severe spinal injury, paraplegia and a fractured sternum. Her career is over in a moment; Kristina Vogel is now on four wheels instead of two. Long hospital stays and rehabilitation measures determine Kristina's everyday life today.
It is a tragic stroke of fate for Kristina. But the cheerful nature cannot be defeated, she fights her way back into life, gathering new strength and energy. Whether on the bike or in a wheelchair, Kristina radiates confidence and courage. And the most important thing: she has not lost her laughter.
Kristina has been a member of the Bioracer Family for many years - that's why we want to stand by her actively and help her to live as pleasant a life in a wheelchair as possible. The rehabilitation measures, the medical applications and the wheelchair-related conversion works are associated with a large financial outlay. That's why money also helps. "We would like to make a supporting contribution and say thank you for the years of successful cooperation," says Birgit Schlaak, Sales Manager of Bioracer Germany. "For this we have designed a cap that expresses Kristina's love of life.
The design proposal is very much to Kristina's liking: "I liked it right away and I am very grateful for this support. I am delighted that the great collaboration with Bioracer continues in this way." Just like the pink hibiscus and lily blossoms on the hat, life is colourful despite dark phases and we hope that Kristina's future path will be accompanied by many colourful experiences. Because: Pink wins!
